    Hello, all!
For the last week or so, I've been working on a Retro-Channel-like project that basically lets you post scores and other data online. It's called "Hattnet".
    To use the service:
    • First, register at http://hattnet.cf/register.php .
    • Then you can download the client at http://hattnet.cf/index.php .
    • After that, unzip the zip into wherever.
    • Once that's done, change hattnet.ini to reflect the credentials that you've registered with. The included hattnet.ini has a default username as "TopHatt", and a default password as "supermario".
    • Run gens_11b.exe .
    • Go into Tools>Lua Scripting>New Lua script Window.
    • Browse for the included hattnet.lua.
    • If it hasn't started, click "Run".
    • Now, when you're playing a game, you can press mode (right shift on default) to upload your scores!

Checking your (or someone else's) scores is as easy as going to http://hattnet.cf/index.php OR http://hattnet.cf/compare.php, filling in the blanks, and pressing "Submit" or enter. There you'll find a neat graph (empty on first run), a table, and an in-game screenshot of when you uploaded.
On the compare page, you can see how you're doing compared to someone else.

    Please Note:

There isn't any cheat protection, so as to keep the client open source. Hattnet will only be as good as you make it.
Please keep it fun for all.

But wait! That doesn't mean you can't look at how it works! Do that! Document it, if you'd like! I don't care!
Also, if you'd like to see the source for the server, let me know.

Report anything! I take criticism! It's my first huge project, of course I'm going to do something wrong!

(by the way, this is a direct repost of http://forums.sonicretro.org/index.php?showtopic=35103)

Fair warning for people trying this: An ICO file seems to be missing, which causes things to break. Remove references to it from the scripts, provide a replacement, or wait for TopHatt to provide a fixed version.
