    1. How do i compile the many folders split.bat made into a rom?

    2. Am i stuck to editing art with SonED2 or can i edit it with paint? It's extremely annoying to do it in SonED2.

    3. Any place where i can get some good sprite art? (Specifically ground art or background art.

    1. Build.dat

    2. You can import PCX images, but I prefer doing it in SonED 2.

    3. The Mystical Forest Zone.

Ok, delete all the shit that was made when you clicked split.bat (except the project files, split.bat itself, and the clean rom) and go to http://info.sonicretro.org/Disassemblies

Download one for what game you are editing.

If you are editing S1, get the Hivebrain. If you are editing S2, I suggest the Xenowhirl DisAsm for the first time, although Aurochs is similar.

Then empty all the shit from the .zip file into the folder with the split.bat, the S2 Rom, etc. and if it asks if you want to replace split.bat, then say yes.

Now just clicking on build.bat (I don't know if it is the same for S1, but for S2 it is build.bat) will rebuild your rom.

Yes, I would stick with SonEd2 for your tiles, unless you feel like opening TLP, then you can do that, but remember to decompress if you do.

Try your hand at making your own art for levels.

They'll look shit at first, but you'll get better over time.

Oh, and if while art editing, you use a block to overwrite stuff in the chunk, you have to right click on every tile individually for the chunk and change the solidity from not solid to all/top solid, depending on the tile.

    Hope this helps.

EDIT: Damn, was beaten to it.
