Voice Types

TFM Music Maker voices (*.tfi)

Voices used by a tracker called "TFM Music Maker". This tracker is designed mainly for a ZX Spectrum FM addon called TurboSound FM, but is also able to export for Mega Drive. However, they are usable in SMPS, too, because there are converters for those (although I can't find the file) to SMPS, and they are importable in both XM3SMPS and XM4SMPS. There also is a program who converts all voices in VGM files into tfi files. See the toolbox above.

File size: Always 42 Bytes

MVS Tracker MD voices (*.ins)

Voices used by a tracker called "MVS Tracker MD". There are a lot of voices for this tracker included with TFM Music Maker. Those files are usable in SMPS too, because once again, there are converters for them, too (although I can't find the file), and they are also able to be imported in XM3SMPS/XM4SMPS.

File size: Varies from file to file

Raw SMPS voices (*.bin)

Those files are just the standard 25 byte big SMPS voice files. They are, of course, importable in both XM3SMPS/XM4SMPS and rippable out of SMPS songs by Oerg866's tool which you can find above.

File size: Always 25 Bytes

XM3SMPS voice bank files (*.x3v)

The "Rolls Royce" amongst voice files. This is a voice bank format designed by Nineko for use with XM3SMPS and it's also supported by Puto's XM4SMPS. It can hold up to 255 voices.

File size: Depends how many voices loaded (Minimum is 25 Bytes (1 Voice a 25 Byte) / Maximum is 6375 Bytes (255 Voices a 25 Bytes))
