 Welcome to SonicBasement.net.
The principal behind Sonic Basement is to archive oddities, glitches and other “secret stuff” in the Sonic the Hedgehog series of games. The way our site works, is our articles are written by three people, Jan Abaza, creator of StH Area 51, Nayr T'nargh, former administrator of Secrets of Sonic the Hedgehog, and Qjimbo, creator of the Sonic Research Zone. With some articles discussed from all three viewpoints, you can see every avenue of thought.

Over the many years the Sonic the Hedgehog Community has existed, revelations have happened and there have been changes in the way it's members think. Most notably, the shift from searching for secrets in the games by playing them, and more towards simply disassembling the game and modifying it in order to produce “sonic hacks”, due to the limited number of secrets that can plausably be found within the games.
However this is actually an odd move, when you consider this: Why can both avenues not co-exist? We here at Sonic Basement believe they can. What you will see here, is all the stuff that got buried with the passage of time, updated to account for recent findings, and due to our new understanding of the how the game works, technical evidence to back it up.
We are going to revisit all the old theories, dig up the old secrets, and reignite the “spark” that has become lost from this side of the community.
